ARTG 190 Open Source Afro Hair Library Contributor Studio

Introduces students to open-source development. Students explore the aesthetic, cultural, and technical goals of the Open Source Afro Hair Library, identifying opportunities for development and proposing contributions aligned with their skills and interests. Through research, case studies, and hands-on projects, students develop critical thinking, communication, and design skills while learning to navigate collaborative, open-source ecosystems. The course culminates in a professional presentation emphasizing both process and impact. No programming experience required; strong skills in art, design, research, and/or writing is recommended. Students from all disciplines are welcome. (Formerly ARTG 90, Open Source Contributor Studio.)
