Art and Design: Games and Playable Media

ARTG 111 MateREALITIES: Sculptural Components of Games and Interactive Artworks

Students are introduced to contemporary sculptural and material techniques in pursuit of fabricating their own interactive artworks, game pieces, and props. Students prototype and realize a series of projects that allow them an opportunity to integrate new material strategies into the physical components of their creative practice. Material and sculptural discourses and techniques introduced vary based on instructor and offering. In addition to the studio component, the course has light seminar lectures, discussion, and critique components as students complete material experiments toward a final physical project.
