KRSG 14 Reading Eco-poetry in Community

This discussion-based seminar has one central goal: reading for the sake of reading. The course offers an introduction to ecopoetry through mindful reading of selected national and local texts. Each week will focus on either a poet who has made an important contribution to ecopoetry or a group of poems reflecting a specific thematic impulse, in order to gain exposure to ecopoetry as a field, to surprise ourselves as readers, and to engage pleasurably with reading poems in a community of readers, regardless of one’s previous experience with reading poetry. To promote reading deeply and mindfully, all texts are read in hard copy, provided at no cost to students.
